Senior Network Infrastructure Consultant – CCIE or Equivalent

CCIE or equivalent experience, Route/Switch, Network Architecture, IP Telephony, Voice and Converged Communications, Security.

Burwood Group, Cisco's Gold Partner and Partner of the Year in Security Solutions for the Central Region is looking to add to its growing team. Positions available in the Chicago office. Candidates should have an education and/or background in Computer Science or Information Technology. Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of practical experience working in IT, professional services, or customer support organizations with an emphasis on Cisco networking and EMC/VMWare products and some Microsoft infrastructure a plus. Candidates should be a subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas: Cisco internetworking (CCIE), Voice over IP, IP Contact Center, security, EMC and Microsoft infrastructure solutions. The lead consultants must possess strong interpersonal, business and technology skills that enable them to engage at the CxO and Director/Manager levels, as well as lead teams of consultants and clients. Ideal candidates will also be experienced in IT consulting with a holistic understanding of the IT operations within a business organizations. Also, be able to quickly adapt to a fast-paced sales and quality-based delivery model, work in a team-based environment and self manage.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide lead technical expertise to clients and project teams
  • Serve as lead/senior consultant and subject matter expert in specific technology area
  • Manage and execute project level tasks and milestones
  • Work cohesively with other Burwood Group project team members and co-workers


Additional Job Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in IT, professional services and/or customer support organizations
  • Technical knowledge and experience in Microsoft, Cisco, and/or EMC/VMWare
  • Advanced Cisco knowledge, experience and certifications (CCIE) highly desirable
  • IP Telephony and call/contact center knowledge a plus
  • Possess a broad understanding of IT and business operations
  • Experience presenting to and interfacing with upper level management
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network and communications issues
  • Technical team lead with delivery track record
  • Account relationship and project management skills
  • Highly detail oriented and does not leave anything to chance
  • Ability to self manage work, time, and priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong educational background and the desire to learn
