Southern California HIE Forum
Sharing Viewpoints on Health Information Exchange
This paper provides a synthesis of the conversation among prominent stakeholders and experts in electronic health records and information-sharing topics at the Southern California HIE Forum on January 20, 2011.
Healthcare in the United States is changing at a rapid pace. With many new technologies being developed daily, one would assume those products would increase the effectiveness of applied medical care. Instead rising costs, disparate systems, and unconnected data are complicating the landscape. Additionally, rising healthcare costs prohibit many from receiving even basic care. The time for change, collaboration, and cooperation is now.On Janurary 20th Burwood Group and Cisco brought key healthcare leaders together to discuss successfully connecting clinical information across systems, organizations, and communities. The Southern California HIE Forum was put in place to add clarity to current policies and create partnerships for superior medical care. It was an open forum that worked towards creating actionable and practical initiatives that leverage technology to improve healthcare quality, safety, and efficiency.
"From the presales workshop to...
...post-implementation support, Burwood Group has shown us their commitment to providing outstanding customer experiences from every level of their organization. We look forward to working with them for many years."
