This year Burwood Group will be sponsoring a Special Interest Group (SIG) with the Illinois CIO Exchange (ICE). This SIG, focusing on the challenges and opportunities related to IT Infrastructure, will meet every two months. Participants include management level professionals who have responsibility for infrastructure strategy and implementation for their organizations.

Proposed topics for the next 12 months include:

Role of Infrastructure in business alignment

Adoption of ITIL – Advantages and disadvantages

Relationship of ERP systems, SOA and integration

Implementation, management and support of new architectures

Governance of infrastructure

Finding, managing and retaining the best resources

Infrastructure project justification (financial impact, business impact, and benefits)

Illinois CIO Exchange (ICE) is an executive membership organization serving CIOs and IT Executive leadership in the state of Illinois. ICE’s focus is building a powerful consortium of Illinois IT leaders, who will leverage each other’s networks, best practices, and general wisdom to advance their organizations and most importantly, their careers at the strategic/C-Level. ICE has developed many strategic alliances with Illinois’ leading associations, state and local government entities, educational institutions, and technology providers to provide effective communication and education resources to its CIO membership.

Working as an intermediary or “exchange”, ICE identifies poignant research, associations, events, as well as the actual technologies that will allow Illinois’ more established companies to gain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace.

The initial planning meeting will be held September 15, 2005, from 8:00 - 10:30 AM in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. For more information please contact:
