Google Cloud Partner of the Year Award Winner

July 20, 2021: Burwood Group today announced that they have received the 2020 Google Cloud Industry Solutions Partner of the Year for Public Sector. This award recognizes Burwood’s success in 2020, leveraging Google Cloud to create comprehensive and compelling solutions that made a significant impact on one industry across multiple regions.

Burwood Group was recognized for their achievements in the public sector industry with Google Cloud, helping joint customers achieve success in infrastructure modernization, application migration, and research excellence.

Burwood is committed to transforming public sector learning, research, and outcomes with the power of cloud. Their dedicated Google Cloud consulting team has developed a deep understanding of public sector stakeholders, challenges, and outcomes as relates to cloud consumption. Highlights from Burwood’s 2020 industry advancements include:

  • Development of the Burwood Cloud Billing Portal, a customized portal for public sector institutions. Burwood engineers developed this portal while encountering common cloud billing issues in higher education: grant funding management, departmental credits, and more. The portal helps clients responsibly monitor and expand their cloud footprint.

  • Achievement of expert-level competency in helping institutions maximize GCP for higher education research communities. Burwood Group enables researchers to migrate data and leverage capacity for GPUs and TPUs, equips researchers to perform machine learning, HPC, genomics, and simulations, and creates guardrails for sensitive, regulated datasets. “Google Cloud provides an excellent foundation for research in the cloud,” says Dan Speck, Vice President of Research and Development at Burwood Group. “We enjoy working with researchers to understand their use cases and build customized workflows and automation to increase productivity.”
